ZumuHQ Intranet
This project involved the development of the Zumu Company Intranet, from inception and definition through development to full completion and full use by staff and clients day in and day out. Developed while I was an employee of Zumu. While it is the intranet so I can't link to the guts, the juice, the exciting stuff, I can link to the outside of www.zumuhq.com, and I can describe it further here.
"ZumuHQ" integrates with the daily processing of $100,000 direct debit and credit card batch files, and literally 1000's of individual accounts across Australia and New Zealand (and in the coming months, the USA, Canada and the UK!). For the clients and staff of Zumu, it offers a real-time dashboard with 42 metrics each which can drilled down and be graphed over time, attractive and meaningful reports output straight to pdf, integration with credit card gateways for real time credit card processing, a unique user profiling system and solid login/security framework securing user groups and roles - and more.
LifeConnexions.com.au
Connexions is a wonderful company offering second to none psychological services in Wollongong, NSW Australia. Through word of mouth they approached me to help them develop and online presence for their business. The results of our first stage are at www.lifeconnexions.com.au, and make way for a second stage of engaging the community with blogs containing tips, articles and news promoting good mental health. This site was designed with my own hands, cut up and wrapped around the ColdFusion SavaCMS. Additionally I was asked to provide support and consultation for content development. We launched in October 2008 and have had great success already in enquiry rates and brand recognition throughout the Illawarra.
Bill@Ease Billing System
A product of my own entreprenuerial making - I spec'd, pitched and won the chance to completely replace my then employer's business systems with a web-based application of my own, light years ahead of the existing chain around their necks. "Bill@Ease" is a system that revolutionised how they did business, how efficient their staff were able to be, and the amount of value they could offer their clients.
At the time I was not yet programming, so brought a partner into the business to build the app while I was steering the project ship - identifying the most effective interface layouts, flow and required feature sets, keeping development on focus and aligned with these features and the spec, working as the liaison between development and the client (and financial institutions with whom the product was integrated), overall project management.
The technical roles I took on were working with the developer on database structure, assisting with constructing required SQL statements, bug testing/tracking and web server management. Bill@Ease has been in use for over threeyears and still recieves rave reviews from staff, clients and the company managment!
"Zumu Nation" eNewsletter
To the experienced web developer's eye, the code of this eNewsletter would be ghastly! Tabled-based design, inline css, spacer gifs - the works! But to the cutting-edge eMarketers you'll recognise it as the perils of HTML Emails! Trying to design a newsletter that is displayed correctly in the 9+ popular email clients is definitely a nightmare for some.. but not me :)
Bring on the challenge! This email design is now used as a template for weekly emails distributed by Zumu, making it through spam filters and being rendered clearly and accurately. Even in (gasp!) Outlook 2007 and (shock!) Gmail - the two worst offenders of all - this design is 95% correct and degrades gracefully.
Authoring the content for this eNewsletter was also my responsibility.
"Service Offering" Corporate Brochure Content
This January 2008 corporate brochure was a great success. The design and printing were outsourced, the content written by my good self. You'll notice at this stage of my life I loved long sentences with many a comma :) Hell - I still enjoy those now LOL. The content of this brochure formed the foundation for a rebranding and repositioning of Zumu's services in 2008 and they have been enjoying steady growth since.
